Geo-Statistical Estimation and Temporal Distribution of Wind Speed Data of Karachi Airport

Karachi city is a coastal near the Arabian sea. Due to its location, wind speed may provide sustainable small scale energy system as well reduction in power shortage city. In this study, data of Airport station at 10m height used estimate surrounding area with reference measured station. This estimated will then be helpful assess generation unsampled locations. Geo-Statics tool ArcGIS version 10.1 software was utilised using different interpolation methods. Descriptive statistics were analyse and compare speed. The analysis summarises effectiveness Time series variations also analysed. Temporal mapping showing seasonal descriptive illustrated high value correlation coefficient ‘r’, determination R2 which 99.8% for Ordinary Universal kriging methods, while it calculated 99.6% Simple kriging. A slightly higher variation resulted methods than method. results indicated that all three performed better are more effective display.
